    To add a new device to your Vylio account:

    • Log into Vylio here.
    • Click on + Add new device.

    The add new device window will now be displayed with some options.

    Vylio supports several device types, the options are:

    • Hardware Tracker
    • Mobile Phone Tracker
    • Connect Protocol

     

    Hardware Tracker

    Several brands and models are supported on Vylio.  These are physical devices.  The vendors/brands supported currently on Vylio are:

    • ATrack
    • Alematics
    • Bofan
    • fifotrack
    • ICARVISIONS
    • Pivotel
    • Sigfox supported devices by Digital Matter, Generic (choose generic if your device uses the Sigfox network and the brand is not listed) and TRACKbox

     

    To add a Hardware Tracker device (if you already have one of these supported brands and models)

    • Choose the Hardware Tracker option.
    • Select the Device Make, this is the vendor/manufacturer of your device.
    • Select the Device Model you have, not all Device Makes have models to select.
    • Click Next
    • If prompted for a Device Phone Number, enter the phone number (in the international format) for this device, this is typically the phone number for the SIM card in the device.
    • If prompted for a APN, enter the APN (this is provided by the SIM card supplier).
    • If prompted for a Sigfox ID, this can be found in the Sigfox Portal and in most cases on the Sigfox enabled device case.
    • Enter a Device Name, this is a name label for your device.
    • Choose a Marker Colour for your device.
    • Agree to the Terms and Conditions
    • Click Next

    Your device has now been added to Vylio.

     

    Mobile Phone Tracker

    These are mobile phone apps that enable tracking on your mobile device.  These mobile apps utilise the mobile device hardware to turn your mobile device into a tracker.  This is often selected when a hardware tracker is not available or the mobile device solution suits your needs.

    The mobile apps supported currently on Vylio are:

     

    • Traccar
    • X-GPS-Tracker

     

    To add a Mobile Phone Tracker (requires the mobile phone app to be installed on your mobile device)

    • Choose the Mobile Phone Tracker option.
    • Select the Device Make, and Device Model you have or will be installing.
    • Click Next
    • Enter a Device Name, this is a name label for your device.
    • Choose a Marker Colour for your device.
    • Agree to the Terms and Conditions
    • Click Next

    Your device has now been added to Vylio.  Once added links to the apps and a unique Device ID will be displayed.  Once the app is installed the Device ID will need to be entered into the mobile app, along with some other settings.

    Connect Protocol

    This is for devices or services that use the Connect Protocol.  This is also a good choice if you are creating a device or service that does not have a protocol and would like to use the Connect Protocol.  Additional information on the Connect Protocol can be viewed here.

    If you are unsure of the Connect Protocol is what you need, check with the vendor/manufacturer of your device or service or alternatively try the other device options.
